Die Presse begleitet den West End Transfer euphorisch; die Financial Times feiert die Wiedergeburt des Thriller-Genres: "The form can be used as a Trojan horse for more profound matters, as it is by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm in this transfer". The Stage spricht von "a play with very sharp teeth (...) Just when you feel you have sense of the characters and what they want from one another, the writing shifts. It’s a weapon of a play in this respect: the rules keep changing as rug pull follows rug pull. Lloyd Malcolm really knows how to press an audience’s buttons and the sense of tension, of jeopardy, is palpable.". Auch Exeunt Magazine feiert den geschickten Aufbau des spannungsgeladenen Stückes: "The imbalance of money and power on stage makes you think you have The Wasp worked out within seconds (...) before subverting those assumptions just a few minutes into the play. This is not only a play about motherhood or social class, although Lloyd Morgan is consistently good on how class interacts with gender and assumptions about gender relations. As The Wasp twists and turns, pulling the rug again and again until its tense, breathless conclusion, we see the bullied become the bully and the echo down the years of the most ill-considered actions. With the smallest turn of phrase, Lloyd Malcolm evokes years of shared history that have created two very different (or perhaps not so different) women."
